Bedside Ocular Ultrasound

33 y.o. male presented with partial loss of vision in left eye which
began 9 months ago 3 min after removing his contact lense. Patient
denies pain ,discharge or trauma. Loss of vision has not changed,
describes the event as “someone turning out the lights” with green
and blue outlines when looking at lights. Visual loss is located
superiorlaterally in left eye. The patient did not seek medical care
for this until recently (3.5 weeks ago) due to pain 2/2 to pseudomonas
infection in the other eye. The patient presented to the ED for a
refill of his antibiotics and an ocular ultrasound of the left eye was
performed (shown below) which shows a large retinal detachment.
